London, United Kingdom, 8 September 2022 -- Nexus Media Group announced that Lumify Work (formerly DDLS) is shortlisted as a finalist for the 2022 EducationInvestor Awards.
The EducationInvestor Awards 2022 is a celebration of commercial successes in the education business. It seeks to recognise those that have made an outstanding contribution to the industry in 2021. It has been running for 12 years and has raised £400,000+ (AU $680182.45) to support charitable organisations.
This year, finalists will be assessed under three categories: Advisory & Finance, Education Provision, and Software & Services. Successful entries will be shortlisted and judged by a panel of high-profile independent judges.
Lumify Work has been selected as a finalist under the Education Provision category, specifically for Skills Training. We are grateful to be recognised for our work in enabling people to thrive in the digital landscape of tomorrow. We are also honoured to be amongst other EdTech companies that understand the value and community impact of training, skills and pedagogy.
A large part of the consideration was Lumify Work's ability to adapt quickly to the challenges of COVID and pivot to 100% virtual instructor-led courses within weeks, leading to a lasting impact for both students and clients.
The quick transition to online delivery was made possible by Lumify Work's infrastructure and the digital transformation project of upgrading its customer relationship management system and accounting system to Microsoft Dynamics. The team also updated the client relationship management (CRM) system to set up Microsoft Team’s and Zoom events, set passwords for those events, invite the correct students and distribute passwords. On average the courses last 3-4 days so for each class, multiple events needed to be set up for each training day, including undertaking exams.
Our 100+ trainers and our IT department contributed to this success as well. Trainers worked with Lumify Work to upgrade their home office equipment and reconfigure their course delivery and management to adapt to virtual classroom settings.
Before the pandemic, Lumify Work's IT team kitted out several of its training rooms with high-end video conferencing equipment to enable cross-campus streaming of classes. Cross campus streaming meant that a trainer in Brisbane could teach a classroom in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne simultaneously and in some circumstances.
Cross-campus streaming also enabled a relaunch of ‘Lumify Anywhere’ delivery modality, which offers a range of instructor-led training options to suit the needs of all students and organisations in Australia, the Philippines and soon after in New Zealand.
In September 2021, Lumify Work worked with the EdventureCo and parent company Arowana to integrate Auldhouse, New Zealand’s largest ICT training business. Through this, Auldhouse could roll out several new courses such as cyber security, improve the telepresence offering of classrooms and have New Zealand trainers teach courses across Australia, and New Zealand students join Australian scheduled courses.
Additionally, Lumify Plus, our online learning pathway, has provided all students across regions with expertly curated content, virtual learning labs, industry insights and online access to instructors to improve their learning outcomes. Lumify Plus uses a team of instructors who are highly involved in content curation, ensuring only the best and most relevant content is included in each course area. These expert trainers can also directly engage with students via the platform.
As a result, an annual 16,000 students (about the seating capacity of Madison Square Garden in New York) have received ICT training and certifications with access to resources for continued learning. Two thousand active clients, including 95% of the ASX100 companies, have equipped their staff with the digital skills needed to support their organisations' transformation.
Winners of the EducationInvestor Awards 2022 will be announced and celebrated on Tuesday, 8 November, at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London.
