Sydney, 6 May 2014 – DDLS (Dimension Data Learning Solutions), Australia’s largest provider of technical IT training, certification and professional development, today announced the launch of a series of new training courses aimed at helping organisations combat hacking technologies.
The new EC-Council courses offered by DDLS help companies achieve the best information security processes in their organisation from a vendor neutral perspective:
Certified Ethical Hacker CEHv8 – focuses on learning how to scan, test, hack and secure your organisation’s systems
ECSA/LPT -Penetration Tester – focuses on the advanced uses of penetration testing methodologies, tools and techniques to perform comprehensive information security tests
As an Authorised Training Centre, DDLS can provide easy access to training and greater flexibility on scheduling and locations across ANZ. These certifications are important for organisations looking to secure their networks.
Mal Shaw, CEO of DDLS, said “We are delighted to become an EC-Council Authorised Training Centre for Australia and New Zealand and are committed to providing education and certification that will assist our clients with their Information Technology Security needs. Through this partnership, it is our goal to make DDLS a leading provider of IT Security training for both government and commercial network security requirements and we can now offer the complete package.
“By combining EC-Council completely vendor neutral tactical security courses with our vendor specific security courses, DDLS provides our clients the skills to effectively and proactively manage their network security issues.
“In a climate where security threats abound – Trojans, viruses, malware – there is a growing need for quality training courses and certifications for security professionals. On 12th March the renewed Privacy Act came into effect, introducing new rules that will encourage the open and transparent management of personal information including the adoption of procedures to identify and manage privacy risks and identify and report breaches – fuelling yet greater need for more IT Security Professionals in the region.”
Ravin Prasad, Vice President of EC-Council Australia & New Zealand, commented: “We’re excited to welcome DDLS as a new Authorised Training Centre. The Cisco 2014 Annual Security Report states that there is a worldwide shortage of nearly a million skilled security professionals limiting the ability of organisations to combat the cyber threat.
“EC-Council courses aim to increase the level of IT Security across Asia Pacific and build awareness among both organisations and individuals on the importance of information security to defend the nation from cybercriminals. We rely on our Authorised Training Centres to ensure that they deliver a consistent quality, accredited training experience to meet the requirements of the market. With DDLS’ national coverage and industry-recognised instructors, we are confident that this appointment will ensure greater access to the training and certification needs of all security professionals.”
DDLS EC-Council-certified instructors will begin offering EC-Council Certified classes immediately. The first class is scheduled in June 2014 and will cover how to use hacking techniques to test the security of an organisation’s system and uncover vulnerabilities and the application of countermeasures to secure systems against malicious threat and attacks.
