Overview

As teams and organisations pursue digital transformation, the Red Hat® Certified Engineer (RHCE) credential helps you to demonstrate skills critical to managing systems in a DevOps environment. One of the key tenets of DevOps is automation and the RHCE is an extension of the knowledge required to automate the deployment, management, and support of multi-system environments – making your credential even more valuable and relevant. By developing automation skills to complement your deployment and configuration expertise, you will show your understanding of how Ansible Automation interacts with other Red Hat technologies.

For current RHCSAs or future candidates

If you are a Red Hat Certified System Administrator and would like to become a Red Hat Certified Engineer, you must complete the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) exam (EX294), which emphasises automation skills and is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. To help you prepare, we recommend taking our Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Ansible (RH294) course before attempting the associated exam.

If you’re not yet an RHCSA, you can start your journey by getting certified. By learning Linux system administration skills, you will develop a foundation that builds on your automation knowledge if you choose to pursue the RHCE credential.
