From differentiating in a crowded market to budgetary constraints and staff shortages, small-and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) face unique and persistent challenges in their everyday operations.

To address these challenge areas, many SMBs turn to the cloud. Following the migration, these organisations hope to access more cost and operational efficiencies, achieve more innovation, and fortify their security posture. Still, a lack of education on cloud tools and best practices can impede and delay achieving these critical milestones.

Diverse cloud skill levels, busy schedules, and the need to multi-task across SMB organisations can make it challenging to choose and implement the right cloud training option efficiently.

Reaching the next level with AWS cloud training from ATPs

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Training Partners (ATPs) like Lumify are selected and certified by AWS to help SMBs maximise their investment in the cloud. They are widely regarded as the best resource for AWS cloud training for several reasons. ATPs enable organisations to:

  • Learn from official AWS Training Partners.

AWS Training Partners are trusted organizations selected by AWS based on their quality and track record offering AWS-authored training developed by AWS.

  • Choose the training option that best fits your team.

ATPs offer a wide variety of training options, including traditional classroom sessions and 500+ digital courses. All courses provide prepaid AWS Certification exam vouchers. Training sessions also feature games and other tools that make learning accessible, convenient, and fun. The AWS Partner Solutions Finder can help you locate your local ATP.

  • Leverage guidance that continues as your organisation evolves.

AWS Training Partners can support SMB teams at every stage of their evolution in the cloud. Develop the skills to innovate with more dexterity, accelerate migration, and build modern applications on AWS.

SMBs can apply for training grants to cover cloud training costs. The Small Business Technology Investment Boost and Small Business Skills and Training Boost by the Federal Government provides small business grants for employee training to mitigate your expenses.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) shared that small businesses can deduct 20 per cent of the cost incurred on business expenses and depreciating assets supporting their digital adoption. Examples of costs supporting digital adoption include portable payment devices, cyber security systems or subscriptions to cloud-based services.

For the new Small Business Skills and Training Boost, an annual $100,000 cap on expenditure will apply to each qualifying income year.

  • Under existing laws, small businesses can find support for related training and upgrades beyond these.

  • Small businesses can keep deducting expenditures ineligible for the bonus deduction under the existing tax law.

Businesses can also continue to deduct expenditures over the $100,000 cap under existing law.

This measure applies to business expenses incurred in the period beginning from 7:30 pm AEDT 29 March 2022 until 30 June 2023.
